Job Summary
We are seeking an innovative and skilled Mechatronics Engineer to design, develop, and test advanced automated and electromechanical systems. In this role, you will bridge the gap between mechanical engineering, electronics, and computer science to create smart, highly efficient devices, robotics, and automated production machinery. You will manage the product lifecycle from initial conceptualization and prototyping through to deployment, optimization, and troubleshooting.

Requirements & Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Demonstrated professional experience in designing and implementing electromechanical, automation, or robotic systems.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for mechanical modeling; strong programming capabilities in C++, Python, MATLAB, or IEC 61131-3 PLC languages.
• Hardware & Controls: Hands-on experience with hardware integration, sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, data acquisition tools, and control systems theory.
• Soft Skills & Competencies: Exceptional analytical problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, strong project management skills, and effective cross-functional communication.
• Languages: English & Afrikaans (easy to learn Dutch)

Key Responsibilities
• System Design & Development: Design, model, and build integrated electromechanical systems, robotics, and automation equipment combining mechanical, electrical, and software elements.
• Prototyping & Testing: Assemble and test hardware prototypes, run computer simulations (using CAD or MATLAB) to evaluate system behavior, and validate performance metrics.
• Programming & Control Systems: Program embedded systems, microcontrollers, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to operate and monitor automated machinery efficiently.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams, as well as production and quality control departments, to ensure seamless system integration.
• Troubleshooting & Optimization: Analyze system failures, perform root-cause analysis, and execute corrective upgrades or design modifications to improve reliability and cost-efficiency.
• Documentation: Create detailed technical specifications, design documents, user manuals, and maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs and machinery comply with industry standards, regulatory codes, and internal safety protocols.
