What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive secretarial support to judges, managing diaries and appointments.
- Prepare and file judgments, ensuring they are delivered and signed promptly.
- Handle court documentation, including drafting orders and maintaining registers.
- Facilitate communication and ensure visitors are received and queries are addressed.
- Assist with the preparation of court rolls and ensure all stakeholders are present for proceedings.
- Administer the correct Oath ID or declarations in court when required.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing documents.
- Organize travel and accommodation arrangements for judges as necessary.
- Manage the judge’s logbook and ensure vehicle maintenance schedules are upheld.
- Provide general administrative support to the judiciary and assist with various court-related functions.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate is essential.
- Completion of a minimum of 20 modules towards an LLB, BA, or BCOM Law degree.
- At least one year of secretarial experience is required.
- A valid driver’s license is advantageous.
- Proficiency in typing and passing a typing test is necessary.
- Knowledge of the South African Constitution and relevant legislation.
- Familiarity with court processes, case lines, and online retrieval systems.
- Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure with a keen attention to detail.
