What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the review and monitoring of the Risk Management Framework, Policy, Charter, and Strategy.
  • Provide strategic guidance on the integration of risk management into departmental planning and reporting.
  • Advise on establishing risk appetite and tolerance levels, including anti-fraud measures.
  • Chair Risk Management Committee meetings, ensuring compliance with relevant governance frameworks.
  • Deliver timely reports to the Accounting Officer detailing the state of risk management and recommendations for improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as outlined in the Risk Management Committee Charter.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of a Degree in Risk Management, Finance, Auditing, or Business Administration.
  • Affiliation with a recognized professional body.
  • 8 to 10 years of Executive Management experience in areas such as Risk Management, Governance, or Financial Management.
  • At least 5 years of experience serving as a Risk or Audit Committee Chairperson in either the public or private sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulations and prescripts, including the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
