What You’ll Do

  • Supervise and monitor the work of housekeeping staff to maintain cleanliness and safety in the hostel.
  • Ensure the well-being of all learners by supporting their daily needs and routines.
  • Mentor and support learners, promoting positive behaviour and adherence to hostel rules.
  • Assist with medical needs by accompanying learners to medical appointments and administering prescribed medication.
  • Help with bathing, feeding, and changing learners as needed, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Support learners with their schoolwork to facilitate their academic progress.
  • Manage logistics related to meal serving and assist in the dining hall.
  • Be prepared to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, to ensure continuous support for learners.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent qualification, or relevant experience in a similar role.
  • A valid driver’s license is advantageous, especially for candidates who may need to transport learners.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with learners and staff.
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to work with children.
  • Ability to work well in a team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
