What You’ll Do

• Ensure the safety and well-being of all learners in the hostel.
• Support and mentor students, promoting positive behavior.
• Implement hostel rules and assist with daily routines.
• Accompany learners for medical attention when required.
• Maintain cleanliness in the hostel and assist with serving food in the dining hall.
• Administer medication as prescribed and assist learners with personal care tasks.
• Help students with their schoolwork and provide support for those needing extra assistance.
• Participate in shift work, including day, night, weekend, and public holiday shifts.

What You’ll Need

• A minimum of Grade 10 or an equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of the Differentiated Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (DCAPS) or Technical Occupational Curriculum (TOC) Level 4 for persons with intellectual disabilities.
• A valid driver’s license is an added advantage (not required for individuals with disabilities).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong care and support skills, with a focus on patience and compassion.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and support staff.
