What You’ll Do
- Assist the clinical manager with various management and administrative responsibilities in the anaesthetic department.
- Participate actively in hospital committees and departmental activities to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide supervision and delivery of anaesthesia services, ensuring high standards of patient care.
- Engage in teaching and training activities for both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
- Take part in outreach initiatives to extend anaesthetic services to underserved areas.
- Manage human capital and oversee administrative duties as required.
- Contribute to the research and publication agenda of the academic department.
- Comply with the Performance Management and Development System through regular assessments and reviews.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of Grade 12 qualification.
- An appropriate postgraduate qualification for registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Specialist.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Specialist Anaesthetist in a public service environment.
- Strong clinical skills and experience in anaesthesia.
- Background in undergraduate and postgraduate training, including research activities.
- Knowledge of basic Human Resource matters and understanding of labour relations.
- Familiarity with finance matters related to cost drivers and budget allocations.
- Proven leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to solve problems effectively.
- Excellent communication and supervisory skills, along with the ability to work well in a team.
