What You’ll Do
- Execute minor general building maintenance and repairs.
- Address plumbing and electrical issues as they arise.
- Conduct routine weekly and monthly inspections of the college’s facilities.
- Report unauthorized movement of equipment and deliberate damage.
- Clear blockages in drains, urinary facilities, and toilets.
- Replace taps and repair broken furniture when necessary.
- Paint buildings and touch up areas as requested.
- Maintain the main kitchen fat drain and clean gutters.
- Ensure stormwater channels are functioning properly.
- Store tools safely and maintain a clean work environment.
- Report the need for major maintenance to your supervisor.
- Perform any additional tasks related to the position as required.
What You’ll Need
- National Senior Certificate/Grade 12/Standard 10 or equivalent.
- A qualification in plumbing, electrical work, or carpentry is preferred.
- A recognized Trade test certificate will be advantageous.
- 0-6 months of experience in a similar working environment.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and building maintenance.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools, along with building infrastructure layouts.
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word) and good communication abilities.
- A valid driver’s license (Code 10/EC1) may be an advantage.

Requirements
