What You’ll Do
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and grounds to identify maintenance needs.
- Assist with minor electrical, plumbing, and welding repairs as required.
- Cut lawns and maintain grass areas around buildings according to horticultural standards.
- Operate various types of lawnmowers and garden tools to ensure the upkeep of outdoor spaces.
- Remove old plants and flowers, including weeds, and clean surrounding roads.
- Prune trees and plant new flowers and plants to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the grounds.
- Safeguard maintenance tools and supplies, ensuring they are kept in good condition.
- Report any defects or maintenance issues to the relevant authorities.
What You’ll Need
- A National Senior Certificate/Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Good knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Proficiency in operating lawnmowers and garden equipment.
- Basic skills for minor lawnmower repairs and welding tasks.
- Strong communication and report writing abilities.
- Good listening skills to understand and execute tasks effectively.
