What You’ll Do
- Conduct needs analyses for various internal units to inform budget preparation.
- Advise sections on budget allocations and financial expenditure queries.
- Inspect financial registers and verify expenditure authority for incurred costs.
- Ensure accurate completion of claim forms before submission to the financial authority.
- Oversee the processing of financial payments, standing advances, and related administrative tasks.
- Manage overtime remuneration and allowances effectively.
- Monitor phone accounts and ensure timely payments.
- Control and manage losses of state money and face value forms.
- Compile and process cost statements to support financial reporting.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12/Senior Certificate/NCV Level 4 or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 4 as recognized by SAQA).
- A minimum of four years’ experience in a relevant financial role.
- An applicable three-year diploma or degree (NQF level 6 or higher as recognized by SAQA) is advantageous.
- A valid driver’s license for light motor vehicles is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of relevant prescripts applicable to the Public Service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in general computer literacy including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Office.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while being professional and accountable.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective collaboration.
