What You’ll Do
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on medical equipment to ensure safety and compliance.
- Diagnose and repair faults in electronic, electrical, and biomedical equipment.
- Calibrate medical devices and maintain accurate calibration records.
- Install new medical equipment and conduct acceptance testing to verify compliance.
- Maintain accurate asset registers and update the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Assist in the procurement of medical equipment by developing specifications and evaluating bids.
- Supervise external service providers and ensure compliance with service agreements.
- Conduct quality assurance activities, including safety inspections and audits.
- Train healthcare personnel on the safe use of medical equipment.
- Compile technical reports and maintain service records.
What You’ll Need
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Engineering or a relevant qualification recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of three years post-qualification experience.
- Compulsory registration with ECSA as an Engineering Technician.
- Strong knowledge of medical equipment maintenance and clinical engineering practices.
- Familiarity with safety standards, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and using biomedical test equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
- Willingness to participate in after-hours and emergency duties as required.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between healthcare facilities.

Job Duties
Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on medical equipment.Conduct functional performance verification.
