What You’ll Do
- Execute maintenance and repair procedures for operational medical equipment.
- Conduct problem-solving and analytical tasks to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Maintain the equipment maintenance database in accordance with clinical engineering standards.
- Implement the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) within the department.
- Mentor students and artisans, fostering the next generation of engineers.
- Provide effective support services to ensure efficient healthcare delivery.
- Participate in standby duties and emergency on-call services as required.
What You’ll Need
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Engineering or a relevant qualification recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience is essential.
- Compulsory registration with ECSA as an Engineering Technician.
- Knowledge of medical equipment maintenance principles and clinical engineering practices.
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and public finance management regulations.
- Proficiency in various biomedical test equipment and maintenance planning.
- Strong communication skills and a customer service orientation.
- Ability to travel between healthcare facilities and work in specialized clinical areas.
- Valid driver’s license and computer literacy in MS Office applications.
