What You’ll Do

  • Manage the development, review, and implementation of the shareholder governance framework for SOEs.
  • Oversee the performance and compliance assessments of governance instruments, including shareholder compacts and governance agreements.
  • Lead assessments of board governance and facilitate the implementation of governance improvement plans.
  • Coordinate the Minister’s involvement in SOE governance structures, including annual general meetings and quarterly forums.
  • Analyze and review SOE annual reports and prepare recommendations for Ministerial consideration.
  • Manage oversight interventions arising from audit findings and assess implications for governance.
  • Lead investigations into allegations of misconduct within the SOE portfolio and monitor corrective measures.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate NQF level 7 degree in Auditing, Law, Accounting, Corporate Governance, or a relevant equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience at Middle/Senior Management level in corporate governance oversight services for public entities.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Corporate Governance are advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in Strategic Capability and Leadership, Government Administrative Processes, and Financial Management.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Public Finance Management Act and the Companies Act 2008.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and report writing skills.
