What You’ll Do
- Monitor and implement financial planning and budgeting at departmental and provincial levels.
- Review annual budget processes and conduct sectoral expenditure reviews.
- Maintain and foster relationships with key stakeholders in the financial sector.
- Provide strategic direction for government sectoral financing and funding mechanisms.
- Coordinate the analysis of budget submissions and contributions to budget documentation.
- Develop reporting systems and databases to track financial performance.
- Advise on the implementation of the Public Management Act and Treasury Regulations.
- Conduct policy analysis and provide advice to the Ministry of Finance and other stakeholders.
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of a Grade 12 qualification and a Bachelor’s degree in Economic Sciences, Development Studies, or Social Sciences (NQF level 7).
- At least 5 years of experience in a middle or senior managerial role, focusing on strategic management and policy processes.
- In-depth knowledge of South African public finance, intergovernmental fiscal relations, and budget processes.
- Strong understanding of poverty eradication approaches and development issues in South Africa.
- Successful completion of the Nyukela Public Service Senior Management Leadership Programme is required before appointment.
