What You’ll Do

  • Lead the strategic management of the Directorate, including setting objectives and priorities.
  • Develop and oversee the provincial spatial analysis and GIS framework.
  • Facilitate the integration of spatial data for effective policy development and planning.
  • Promote capacity building and offer GIS support across the province.
  • Engage with national government, local authorities, and private sector stakeholders to enhance spatial data analysis.
  • Manage the performance and development of staff within the Directorate.
  • Oversee financial management including budgeting and compliance with procurement standards.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate qualification at NQF level 7, recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a middle or senior managerial role.
  • Completion of the Certificate for entry into the Senior Management Service (SMS).
  • Strong understanding of public administration, legislation, and governance frameworks.
  • Proven expertise in strategic management, financial management, and people management.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a dynamic environment.
