What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate the development and alignment of the municipal five-year Strategic Integrated Development Plan.
  • Oversee the implementation of Local Economic Development Planning initiatives.
  • Ensure the Provincial Spatial Development Framework aligns with Municipal Spatial Development Frameworks.
  • Manage the administration of Spatial Planning and Land Use Management (SPLUMA).
  • Facilitate the implementation of the District Development Model and Catalytic projects.
  • Lead the development and review of Land Use Schemes, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks.

What You’ll Need

  • Matric/Grade 12 and a Degree (NQF7) in Local Government, Development Studies, Public Administration, Town Planning, or a related field as recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Local Government and municipal environments at the Middle/Senior Management Level.
  • Completion of the Nyukela SMS Pre-Entry Certificate prior to appointment.
  • A valid driver’s license is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of municipal regulations, planning processes, and financial management.
  • Strong skills in leadership, stakeholder engagement, project management, and communication.
