What You’ll Do
- Oversee the provisioning of information technology services and software programs within the department.
- Manage the information system requirements to ensure efficient operations.
- Provide comprehensive information management support services.
- Establish and maintain an information resource centre to enhance information accessibility.
- Ensure effective and efficient utilization of human and financial resources within the directorate.
What You’ll Need
- A Degree or NQF Level 7 qualification in Information Technology or Information Management Systems, as recognized by SAQA.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant middle or senior management experience in IT and Information Management Systems environments.
- Successful completion of the Nyukela Public Service Pre-entry programme endorsed by the NSG.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation, public finance management, and global information technology processes.

Requirements
Applicants must be in possession of a Degree or NQF Level 7 as recognised by SAQA in Information Technology and Information Management Systems coupled with 5 years relevant middle/senior management experience in IT and IMS environment.Successful completion of the Nyukela Public Service Pre- entry programmes as endorsed by NSG.
A valid driver’s license.
All shortlisted candidates for SMS posts will be subjected to a technical exercise and interview.
Following the technical exercise and the interview, a maximum of three (3) SMS candidates will undergo psychometric assessments to assess cognitive capabilities, behavioural preferences, emotional intelligence, and integrity.
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: Knowledge of the Constitution of the RSA, Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations, Knowledge of Promotion of Information Act, Extensive knowledge of Global Information Technology process, Knowledge of SITA Act, Knowledge of computer hardware and software, Knowledge of computer operating system, Knowledge of Archives Act, Public service knowledge of COBIT, ITLL and ISO, Knowledge of IT guidelines.
