What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement strategic HR policies aligned with the Public Service Act and departmental objectives.
  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process to ensure a high-quality and diverse workforce.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior management on HR planning and recruitment initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies to maximize talent acquisition efficiency.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of HR policies that drive organizational effectiveness and equity.
  • Conduct workforce forecasting to identify critical skills gaps and prevent future labour shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with HR and Employment Equity plans and report submissions.
  • Lead and mentor the HR team to foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Manage the budget for the directorate, ensuring fiscal responsibility and resource optimization.

What You’ll Need

  • A minimum NQF 07 qualification in Human Resource Management, Public Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a middle/senior managerial role within HR Planning and Recruitment.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and diverse teams within a public service context.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Public Service Act, Employment Equity Act, and related statutory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and trends.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced proficiency in HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
