What You’ll Do

  • Lead the strategic direction and overall management of the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development.
  • Oversee the implementation of legislation, legal services, and policies that support constitutional democracy.
  • Manage court administration services and programmes that assist vulnerable groups in accessing justice.
  • Direct the administration of Master’s Services and Family Law Services, including estates, trusts, and guardianship.
  • Provide State legal advisory and litigation services on behalf of Government and organs of State.
  • Ensure effective financial management, strategic planning, and governance within the Department.
  • Strengthen intergovernmental relations and oversee strategic partnerships that advance constitutional values.

What You’ll Need

  • An NQF Level 8 qualification in Law, Public Administration, Public Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Admission as an Attorney or Advocate is an advantage.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ senior managerial experience, with substantial executive leadership experience in a large organization.
  • Proven expertise in organizational transformation, strategic planning, and financial management.
  • Extensive knowledge of constitutional, administrative, criminal, and labour law.
  • Exceptional leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
