What You’ll Do

  • Conduct and facilitate comprehensive economic research to inform policy and strategic decisions.
  • Profile, coordinate, and consolidate the provincial research agenda, ensuring alignment with provincial and national priorities.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, businesses, and community organizations, to enhance collaboration.
  • Oversee the allocation and management of resources within the Directorate, adhering to legislative and departmental policy directives.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance and planning imperatives while continuously seeking improvement in processes and outcomes.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Senior Certificate and an NQF Level 7 qualification (Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma) in Economics, Developmental Sciences, Statistics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Economic Development field, ideally at middle management or senior management level.
  • Strong knowledge of Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, and strategic planning principles.
  • Proven skills in budgeting and financial management, with an emphasis on applied strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication and information management abilities, with a focus on citizen engagement and responsiveness.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
