What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive framework for monitoring municipal performance.
  • Oversee the collection and collation of performance data from municipalities.
  • Evaluate and assess the implementation of municipal performance monitoring systems.
  • Provide strategic input to national and provincial policy and legislative processes regarding municipal performance.
  • Manage the Municipal Excellence Awards processes, both nationally and provincially.
  • Guide the strategic management components, contributing to the Chief Directorate’s planning processes.
  • Foster people management and empowerment initiatives within the department.
  • Ensure effective financial management related to performance monitoring activities.

What You’ll Need

  • A relevant 3-year B-degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of middle to senior management experience in a monitoring and evaluation environment.
  • A valid Code B driving licence.
  • Successful completion of the Senior Management Pre-entry Programme for appointment at the Director level.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, legislation, and best practices related to municipal performance monitoring.
  • Strong strategic capability, leadership, and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder engagement across various sectors.
  • Competence in developing dashboards and reports to track municipal performance.
