What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic leadership in the development cooperation sector.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote South Africa’s international health development agenda.
  • Establish and strengthen partnerships with international stakeholders.
  • Manage and mobilize ODA resources for the health sector in South Africa.
  • Lead the development of funding proposals and partnership frameworks.
  • Coordinate the implementation of donor-funded programs at national and provincial levels.
  • Ensure effective monitoring and reporting of donor funds.
  • Compile strategic and operational reports for executive management and stakeholders.
  • Manage resources and financial allocations effectively.
  • Mentor and manage staff performance to foster a productive work environment.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans within the directorate.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate and a relevant NQF 7 qualification in International Relations Diplomacy, Social Sciences, Public Health, or Health Sciences.
  • An NQF 8 qualification in the above fields will be advantageous.
  • At least five years of experience in middle/senior management roles focused on international negotiations, partnership management, resource mobilization, and donor coordination.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of public service policies, international relations, global health diplomacy, and development cooperation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong strategic leadership, policy development, financial management, and project management skills.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • An SMS pre-entry Certificate is required for final appointment.
