The National Treasury is seeking a highly skilled Director: Capital Projects Appraisal to join their team in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Lead the production of infrastructure appraisal review reports that advise on investment feasibility and sustainability.
- Develop quantitative models to assess the expected impacts of infrastructure projects on the economy and environment.
- Advise on project configuration, costing, funding, procurement, and implementation readiness.
- Conduct post-investment monitoring and evaluation to ensure projects meet their intended outcomes.
- Create and maintain a database of economic indicators for benchmarking capital project impacts.
- Develop appraisal tools and methodologies in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring best practices are upheld.
- Initiate research and analysis on factors affecting capital project investments and infrastructure prioritization.
- Manage a team of analysts, guiding them in project analyses and ensuring timely delivery of reports.
- Represent the unit on project steering committees, providing insights on appraisal progress and findings.
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma/BTech (NQF 7) in Development Finance or Economics; a postgraduate degree (NQF level 8) is advantageous.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in capital project or economic analyses, with 5 years in a middle/senior managerial level.
- Strong understanding of capital project analysis, including cost-benefit and economic analysis.
- Exceptional research, analysis, and report writing skills, with the ability to interpret economic policy outcomes.
- Competencies in change leadership, effective communication, problem-solving, and project management.
