What You’ll Do

  • Manage the pharmaceutical depot in accordance with the Pharmacy Act and relevant legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with good pharmacy practices (GPP) and good warehouse practices (GWP).
  • Oversee the proper storage and distribution of medicines to healthcare facilities.
  • Strengthen engagement with stakeholders and warehouse staff to enhance performance.
  • Develop and maintain internal control procedures to mitigate risks.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff and coordinate training programs for assistants and interns.
  • Compile reports for management on warehouse operations and performance.
  • Represent pharmaceutical services in meetings and participate in relevant committees.

What You’ll Need

  • A B.Pharm degree or equivalent qualification registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC).
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience post-registration, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role in a pharmaceutical environment.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the National Drug Policy and Medicines Act.
  • Proven leadership skills and proficiency in computer systems.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement programmes related to pharmaceutical services.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and team-building skills.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to act as a responsible pharmacist when needed.
