What You’ll Do
- Manage and lead nursing services, providing strategic direction and support.
- Plan and monitor the objectives of the specialized nursing unit in alignment with the institution’s strategic plan.
- Build and maintain constructive working relationships with nursing staff and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, ethical practices, and statutory laws governing nursing.
- Oversee the effective management and utilization of human and material resources within the nursing unit.
- Implement performance management systems to enhance staff development.
- Monitor compliance with quality assurance, infection control, and occupational health and safety standards.
- Ensure efficient administration of the nursing unit functions.
What You’ll Need
- Basic R425 qualification Diploma/Degree in Nursing or an equivalent qualification enabling registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse General.
- A minimum of 9 years of experience post-registration as a Professional Nurse, with at least 4 years in a management position.
- Advanced understanding of nursing legislation and ethical practices.
- Knowledge of PFMA and HR Management.
- Familiarity with Public Sector Legislation and related regulations.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
