What You’ll Do

  • Review and implement Treasury’s Reporting and Governance Frameworks, ensuring compliance with the PFMA.
  • Facilitate the approval of shareholder compacts, aligning them with government priorities.
  • Coordinate the consolidation of corporate plans, quarterly and annual reports, and midterm reviews.
  • Conduct policy and financial analysis, evaluating strategic plans and establishing performance agreements for SOCs.
  • Monitor policy performance trends and assess SOCs’ alignment with set objectives.
  • Engage with SOCs to provide information, inputs, and recommendations on policy issues.
  • Prepare submissions and reports on public entities, considering fiscal implications and service delivery trends.
  • Contribute to National Treasury publications and provide advice on Cabinet Memoranda and Ministerial correspondence.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 certificate and a minimum Bachelor’s degree (NQF Level 7) in Development Economics, Accounting, or Finance.
  • A postgraduate qualification in any of the above disciplines is advantageous.
  • At least 4 years of experience, with 2 years at an Assistant Director level or equivalent in policy and financial analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience applying the PFMA and government frameworks governing public entities.
  • Proficiency in analyzing annual reports, financial reports, and strategic plans.
  • Experience in conducting desktop research and drafting both quantitative and qualitative reports.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to advise senior management effectively.
