What You’ll Do

  • Manage the provision of financial support to municipalities, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of financial support programs tailored for municipal needs.
  • Ensure that the Auditor General and Treasury processes are synchronized and annual reporting requirements are fulfilled.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, strategies, and procedures related to municipal finance.
  • Oversee and manage the resources of the Sub-Directorate to enhance operational efficiency.

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree or NQF level 7 qualification in Financial Management or Financial Accounting, recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of three years of junior management experience in a financial environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation including the RSA Constitution, Municipal Finance Management Act, and other local government prescripts.
  • Strong financial management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
