About the Role
The Compensation Fund is seeking a dedicated Deputy Director: Medical Payments based in Pretoria. What You’ll Do
- Manage the processing of medical invoices and legal claims related to medical payments.
- Develop and review relevant policies, strategies, and operational plans.
- Monitor medical payments to prevent wasteful expenditure and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to provinces and medical service providers.
- Oversee resources and operations within the sub-directorate to enhance efficiency.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) in Accounting, Finance, Informatics, Auditing, Business Management, or a health-related field such as Nursing or Occupational Therapy.
- A minimum of 5 years’ functional experience in financial services, medical payments, or claims processing, with at least 3 years in a junior management role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Compensation Fund’s business strategies, COIDA, and relevant medical legislation.
- Strong skills in budgeting, financial management, and customer service principles.

Requirements
Undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) as recognized by SAQA in Accounting / Finance / Informatics / Auditing / Internal Auditing / Business Management (or Administration) / Operations Management / Health related qualification (Nursing / Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy).5 years’ functional experience in financial services / medical payments / claims processing environment of which 3 years should be at an Assistant Director/Junior management level.
