What You’ll Do
- Manage all district labour relations matters to ensure compliance and fairness.
- Coordinate and monitor collective bargaining activities and address employee grievances.
- Develop and implement policies and systems for effective dispute resolution and prevention.
- Provide direction and advice on procedural and policy matters related to labour relations.
- Liaise with trade unions and Head Office on labour relations issues.
- Maintain staff discipline and manage HR performance effectively.
- Oversee the monitoring of time off and secondment for union activities.
- Conduct report writing and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
What You’ll Need
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF 7/6) in Labour Relations, Labour Law, or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a Labour Relations environment.
- Extensive knowledge of labour laws, dispute resolution mechanisms, and public service legislation.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle conflict resolution and crisis intervention effectively.
- Excellent planning, organizing, and project management skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
- Ability to work beyond normal hours and under pressure while maintaining high performance levels.
