What You’ll Do

  • Provide financial management support to project managers and skills development providers.
  • Conduct financial due diligence on new skills development projects.
  • Monitor and report on project expenditures against budgets throughout project execution and closure.
  • Prepare financial workbooks and develop various financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual summaries.
  • Oversee and approve payment drawdown requests for projects.
  • Forecast expenditures for a portfolio of projects to ensure financial stability.
  • Prepare audit files for projects, facilitating external audits by the Auditor General of South Africa.
  • Collaborate actively as part of the NSF financial team to enhance financial practices and project outcomes.

What You’ll Need

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma (NQF level 7) in Financial Management or Accounting.
  • A minimum of five to ten years of experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing, with at least three to five years in a junior management role.
  • Candidates with articles served at an accounting or auditing firm registered with SAICA are encouraged to apply.
  • CA (SA) designation or progress toward CA (such as ITC or APC) is an advantage.
  • Strong skills in budgeting, financial management, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a keen attention to detail.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across the country.
  • Familiarity with relevant public sector financial legislation and frameworks will be beneficial.
