The Department of Finance is seeking a dedicated Deputy Director: Financial & Support Services to join its Nkangala District Office in KwaMhlanga. This pivotal role involves managing the district’s financial services, including budget and revenue management, expenditure services, and asset management. What You’ll Do
- Manage overall district financial services, including budget coordination and financial reporting.
- Ensure the efficient administration of salaries and salary accounts.
- Oversee the acquisition of goods and services, adhering to procurement policies.
- Develop and implement financial policies, systems, and management structures.
- Identify areas for improvement in financial services and propose relevant projects.
- Facilitate the interpretation of existing financial policies and assist in policy development.
- Lead and mentor staff, maintaining discipline and promoting performance management.
What You’ll Need
- Undergraduate qualification (NQF 7) in Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Commerce, Financial Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in financial management.
- In-depth knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations.
- Proficiency in budget procedures, Basic Accounting System (BAS), PERSAL System, and LOGIS System.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present reports effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and networking abilities, capable of working under pressure.
- Proven management skills and the capacity to interact with high-level stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license.
