What You’ll Do

  • Manage the overall financial services of the Nkangala District, including budget and revenue management.
  • Oversee expenditure services and salary administration, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate the acquisition of goods and services, adhering to established procurement processes.
  • Develop and implement policies and systems for comprehensive financial service provision.
  • Monitor and advise on all finance-related matters to ensure accountability and efficiency.
  • Facilitate the development of financial reporting and budgetary inputs across the district.
  • Identify needs for improved financial services and initiate relevant projects for implementation.
  • Maintain staff discipline and manage human resources performance effectively.

What You’ll Need

  • An undergraduate qualification (NQF 7/6) in Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Commerce, Financial Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in financial management.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, and the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems including BAS, PERSAL, and LOGIS.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to present reports clearly.
  • Proven management and interpersonal skills, with a strong client orientation.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of working under pressure and independently.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
