What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate the annual budget compilation process and coordinate various budget submissions, including MTEF and ENE.
  • Provide guidance to branches in preparing their budget plans and submissions.
  • Analyze annual MTEF submissions and recommend corrective steps for budget documentation.
  • Consolidate inputs from different branches and provide feedback to management on challenges and proposed interventions.
  • Manage the department’s budget in accordance with the appropriation bill.
  • Ensure that the original budget and adjusted budget are accurately captured annually.
  • Conduct financial analysis and budget trend assessments to provide recommendations.
  • Evaluate requests for roll-over funds and additional funding as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with financial processes and relevant prescripts.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Financial Management, Commerce, or a related field (NQF Level 6).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience at a junior management level in the budget performance environment.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Knowledge of budget systems and financial accounting principles.
  • Strong project management and team management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster good relationships.
  • Proficiency in budget forecasting and computer literacy, particularly in Excel.
  • Strong planning, organizing, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective time management and communication skills, both verbal and written.
