What You’ll Do

  • Manage and coordinate the budget performance of the department and its related entities.
  • Provide management advisory services regarding departmental spending.
  • Produce reliable financial information on programme costs and performance.
  • Monitor and report on expenditure against allocated budgets.
  • Develop and maintain a financial performance management system to support daily spending.
  • Ensure compliance with the Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations.
  • Conduct in-year analysis of expenditure plans and advise on trends to improve effectiveness.
  • Manage cashflow projections and compile quarterly expenditure forecasts.
  • Coordinate inputs for the In-Year Monitoring (IYM) Report and compile the report for management.

What You’ll Need

  • A Grade 12 Certificate and a National Diploma in Financial Management, Commerce, Economics, or a related field (NQF Level 6).
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience at a junior management level in budget performance.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of budget systems and computer accounting software.
  • Familiarity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Strong project management and team management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in planning, organizing, and resource management.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
