The Department of Finance is actively seeking a Deputy Director: Banking, Cash and Debtors Management to be based at its Head Office in Mbombela. What You’ll Do

• Oversee and monitor service level agreements with the Provincial Banker, ensuring compliance and performance.
• Provide technical assistance to various departments on banking and financial management matters.
• Ensure the timely processing of payments and manage online bank credit transfers efficiently.
• Supervise the transfer of funds to Provincial Management Groups (PMGs) in alignment with budget allocations.
• Guide departments on debt management and assist in developing effective recovery strategies.
• Manage the province’s investment portfolio, ensuring optimal use of surplus funds.
• Administer human and financial resources effectively to support departmental objectives.

What You’ll Need

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, Advanced Diploma, or BTech NQF Level 7 in Finance, Financial Management, Accounting, Banking, or Financial Risk Management.
• At least three years of relevant experience in banking, cash, and debtors management at a junior management level.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to write clear, concise reports.
• Familiarity with financial systems such as BAS and LOGIS, and knowledge of government policies including PFMA and DORA.
• Excellent technical writing and presentation skills with innovative problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage resources.
