The Department of Social Development is seeking a Community Development Manager: Youth Development based in Bisho, Eastern Cape. What You’ll Do
- Manage the identification and facilitation of community development interventions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to implement integrated youth development programs.
- Monitor and review legislation and policies relevant to youth development.
- Develop proposals to amend or create policies that support youth initiatives.
- Promote youth entrepreneurship and cooperative initiatives within the community.
- Oversee the efficient management of human, financial, and physical resources in the sub directorate.
- Stay informed about new developments in community development and management.
- Facilitate and conduct research on youth community development needs.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant three-year qualification at NQF level 6/7 in Community Development, Social Science, Developmental Studies, Youth Development, Public Administration, or Education.
- At least 10 years of practical experience in community development, with a minimum of 3 years at an Assistant Manager level.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to conduct site visits in both urban and rural areas.
- Strong advocacy, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Emotional intelligence and cultural competencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with isiXhosa or another local language preferred.
- Deep understanding of social dynamics and human behavior, along with project management proficiency.
