About the Opportunity

The City of Johannesburg, through its Human Settlements Department, invites passionate students from Johannesburg communities to apply for this enriching internship. Designed for those who have not previously participated in an internship, this program spans up to 18 months, providing essential on-the-job exposure required for academic qualifications or experiential training.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will play a crucial role in providing project and administrative support within the Public Housing Programme. Responsibilities include coordinating and monitoring departmental projects, ensuring compliance with procurement strategies and tender documents, and maintaining administrative procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications

– Grade 12 / Matric, NQF Level 4
– National Diploma in Town Planning, Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related field at NQF Level 7
– N6 qualification for those needing in-service training
– Enrollment confirmation letter from an educational institution
– Residency in the City of Johannesburg

Benefits

– Stipend: R10,109.86 per month for candidates with a completed qualification (minimum 360 credits) or R3,500.00 per month for enrolled students, both without additional benefits

Skills and Competencies

Candidates should demonstrate high confidentiality, organizational skills, flexibility, adaptability, and strong interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in ICT, particularly MS Office, and a sound understanding of project management are essential.
