About the Role
The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is seeking a dedicated Chief Works Inspector in the vibrant city of Mahikeng, North West. What You’ll Do
- Identify needs and requirements for new work and repairs based on customer feedback.
- Conduct thorough inspections of new projects and existing structures.
- Compile and maintain accurate project documentation for all infrastructure projects.
- Oversee contractor activities on project sites to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Gather and submit information related to the Extended Public Works Programme.
- Manage the office accommodation portfolio, ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
- Supervise subordinate staff, ensuring performance and conduct align with departmental standards.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 12 Certificate.
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 6/7) in a built environment discipline, such as Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or Engineering.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in infrastructure or project management.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of public service management and Batho Pele Principles.
- Excellent skills in problem-solving, communication, and people management.
- Understanding of corporate services management and project management frameworks.
