What You’ll Do
- Perform maintenance and repairs on carpentry and joinery works throughout the hospital.
- Install and replace doors, door frames, windows, cupboards, and other wooden structures.
- Repair and maintain hospital furniture, fittings, and fixtures in various departments.
- Conduct inspections of hospital infrastructure to identify defects and address them promptly.
- Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and specifications to execute carpentry projects.
- Operate and maintain carpentry tools and machinery safely and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
- Assist in preparing material estimates and maintenance records.
- Supervise and mentor Artisan Assistants and interns where applicable.
- Participate in planned maintenance programs and infrastructure improvement projects.
What You’ll Need
- A Grade 10 qualification.
- An appropriate Trade Test Certificate in Carpentry as per the Manpower Act.
- For Artisan Grade A: 0-2 years of relevant experience post-certification.
- For Artisan Grade B: At least 14 years of relevant experience post-certification.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creativity and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office.
