What You’ll Do

• Perform maintenance and repairs on carpentry and joinery works throughout the hospital.
• Install and replace doors, door frames, windows, cupboards, and other wooden structures.
• Repair and maintain hospital furniture, fittings, and fixtures in various departments.
• Conduct inspections of hospital infrastructure to identify defects and address them promptly.
• Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and specifications to execute carpentry projects.
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and machinery safely and effectively.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities.
• Assist in preparing material estimates and maintenance records.
• Supervise and mentor Artisan Assistants and interns where applicable.
• Participate in planned maintenance programs and infrastructure improvement projects.

What You’ll Need

• A Grade 10 qualification.
• An appropriate Trade Test Certificate in Carpentry as per the Manpower Act.
• For Artisan Grade A: 0-2 years of relevant experience post-certification.
• For Artisan Grade B: At least 14 years of relevant experience post-certification.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Strong knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Creativity and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office.
