What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the establishment and implementation of procurement and asset management systems in compliance with the PFMA and treasury regulations.
  • Manage cash flows and budget forecasts aligned with departmental objectives.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly expenditure reports, along with annual financial statements.
  • Compile and manage the departmental annual budget and maintain an effective chart of accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and effective revenue management.
  • Audit financial systems and policies to evaluate their impact on service delivery and compliance with strategic objectives.

What You’ll Need

  • An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in financial management, internal audit, accounting, or supply chain management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience at a senior managerial level in financial management.
  • Nyukela SMS certificate for entry into Senior Management Service from the National School of Government prior to appointment.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the legislative and policy frameworks governing financial and management accounting.
  • Strong skills in strategic management, project management, financial management, and service delivery innovation.
