What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the provision of sound financial and supply chain management.
  • Prepare and present interim and annual financial statements.
  • Manage the department’s budgeting processes and monitor expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with the Public Finance Management Act and other relevant regulations.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies.
  • Supervise the Chief-Directorate of Financial Management and provide strategic financial advice.
  • Facilitate the timely submission of financial documentation to the National Treasury.
  • Lead the audit planning process and respond to audit queries effectively.

What You’ll Need

  • An appropriate bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Financial Management recognized by SAQA.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience at Senior Management Service level in financial management.
  • Strong financial analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial management and supply chain management prescripts in the Public Service.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
