What You’ll Do

• Manage and oversee all aspects of project implementation for large-scale water infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate the planning, cost and time management, quality control, and risk management of projects.
• Provide leadership and performance management to project teams, ensuring effective workflow and collaboration.
• Engage and coordinate with water users, institutions, and stakeholders for informed decision-making on infrastructure projects.
• Promote the department’s interests in projects executed by external bodies and ensure compliance with legal requirements and approved budgets.
• Manage the commissioning and transfer of infrastructure projects to operational status.
• Foster a culture of innovation, performance, and transformation within the team.

What You’ll Need

• An Engineering Degree (B Eng / BSc Eng) in Civil Engineering or a relevant qualification.
• A minimum of six (6) years’ post-qualification experience in project management, especially in large infrastructure projects.
• Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer.
• Valid driver’s license and registration with the South African Council for Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as a Professional Construction Project Manager (Pr. CPM) or Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) is advantageous.
• Extensive experience in contract management and knowledge of construction law contracts such as GCC, FIDIC, and NEC.
• High-level communication skills, including conflict management and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and MS Projects.
