What You’ll Do

  • Review and approve new engineering designs based on established principles and theories.
  • Coordinate design efforts across multiple disciplines for seamless integration with current technologies.
  • Manage the execution of maintenance strategies by providing the necessary structures and resources.
  • Allocate, control, monitor, and report on all project resources effectively.
  • Compile risk logs and manage significant risks according to sound risk management practices.
  • Ensure the availability of funds to meet Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) objectives.
  • Oversee the operational capital project portfolio to align with organizational needs.
  • Develop, motivate, and utilize human resources to maintain a competent knowledge base.
  • Set and monitor key performance areas for subordinates to enhance team performance.

What You’ll Need

  • National Senior Certificate plus a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B Eng/BSC (Eng) or relevant qualification).
  • A minimum of six years’ experience as a registered Professional Engineer.
  • Compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Strong knowledge of programme and project management engineering, legal and operational compliance.
  • Proven skills in strategic capability, leadership, problem-solving, and financial management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills.
