What You’ll Do
- Conduct final reviews and approvals of engineering designs, ensuring compliance with established design principles.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts to guarantee seamless integration with current technologies.
- Innovate new engineering services and management strategies to enhance operational efficiency.
- Develop and manage maintenance strategies to ensure optimal operational availability of infrastructure.
- Set and monitor engineering maintenance standards and specifications aligned with organizational goals.
- Provide technical consulting services to minimize engineering risks and ensure compliance with public service regulations.
- Oversee the operational capital project portfolio, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Manage and guide the performance of engineering teams, focusing on their training and professional development.
What You’ll Need
- A National Senior Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (B Eng/BSc Eng).
- A minimum of six years of post-qualification technical experience in road infrastructure.
- Professional registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineer.
- A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and Public Service Regulations.
- Strong skills in project management, engineering compliance, and maintenance practices.
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
- Attributes such as decisiveness, credibility, flexibility, and strong leadership capabilities.
