What You’ll Do
- Manage and supervise technical services and support functions in the workshop and technical office.
- Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations and promote a culture of safety across departments.
- Provide inputs for technical manuals and standard drawings while incorporating new technologies.
- Oversee the budgeting process and monitor financial expenditure to ensure efficient cash flow management.
- Compile and submit reports as required, contributing to the operational planning of technical services.
- Manage databases and oversee artisans and personnel related to technical operations.
- Lead and develop a team of technicians, ensuring their continuous learning and motivation.
What You’ll Need
- Appropriate trade test in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Environment.
- At least ten (10) years of post-qualification experience as an Artisan or Artisan Foreman.
- Strong knowledge of preventative and reactive maintenance programs.
- Familiarity with the PFMA, National Building Regulations, budgeting, and public service procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to coordinate and enforce policy compliance.
- Willingness to work extended hours and perform standby duties, as well as travel when necessary.
- A valid driver’s license and computer literacy are essential.

Requirements
Appropriate trade test in Electrical/Mechanical/Building Environment.Ten (10) years’ experience post qualification experience required as an Artisan/Artisan Foreman.

Display the willingness to work extended hours and perform stand-by duty and to travel.

Job Duties
Manage technical services and support in conjunction with Technicians/Artisans and associates in field workshop and technical office activities.Ensure the promotion of safety in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.
Provide inputs into existing technical manuals, standard drawings and procedures to incorporate new technology and ensure quality assurance in line with specifications.
Manage administrative and related functions: Provide inputs into the budgeting process.
Compile and submit reports as required.
Provide and consolidate inputs to the technical operational plan.
Update databases and manage artisans and related personnel and assets.
Financial Management Control and monitor expenditure according to budget to ensure efficient cash flow management; and manage the commercial value add of the discipline-related activities and services.
People management Manage the development, motivation and utilization of human resources for the discipline to ensure competent knowledge base for the continued success.
