What You’ll Do

  • Prepare monthly budget and expenditure reports using financial systems such as BAS, PERSAL, and Vulindlela.
  • Assist in consolidating the Provincial Main and Adjustment Appropriation processes.
  • Review departmental budget submissions for numerical accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
  • Ensure correct categorization of budget and expenditure items according to economic classifications.
  • Monitor and report on all National Conditional Grants and their expenditures.
  • Compile personnel analysis reports for provincial departments.
  • Report on earmarked funds and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Manage financial data and records effectively.
  • Perform various administrative functions related to budget management.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Commerce, Financial Management, Accounting, or an equivalent NQF 6 qualification.
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in financial management, accounting, or budget management.
  • Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations.
  • Familiarity with budget and expenditure management systems (BAS, PERSAL, Vulindlela) is advantageous.
  • Strong computer literacy, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A valid driver’s license for travel as required for the role.
