What You’ll Do

  • Assist in evaluating MTEF budget submissions from provincial departments and public entities.
  • Support the Provincial Main and Adjustment Appropriation processes to ensure accuracy before final allocations.
  • Review departmental budget submissions for numerical accuracy in line with the Financial System (BAS).
  • Generate monthly budget and expenditure reports and maintain required budget tables and models.
  • Prepare analysis and reports on monthly and quarterly In-Year Monitoring (IYM) submissions.
  • Monitor national Conditional Grants and report on their corresponding expenditures.
  • Ensure budget and expenditure categorization aligns with economic classifications.
  • Provide financial management support regarding planning, budgeting, and reporting processes.
  • Perform general administrative functions related to financial management.

What You’ll Need

  • A National Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Commerce, Financial Management, Accounting, or an equivalent NQF 6 qualification.
  • A minimum of two years’ relevant experience in financial management, budget, and expenditure management.
  • Familiarity with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, and the Division of Revenue Act (DoRA).
  • Knowledge of government systems (BAS, Walker, PERSAL, Vulindlela) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective oral and written communication abilities.
  • A valid driver’s license, as travel may be required.
