What You’ll Do

  • Lead nursing teams to ensure compliance with clinical standards and nursing practices.
  • Promote quality nursing care based on established guidelines and policies.
  • Assist in managing nursing staff, providing guidance and support in clinical settings.
  • Monitor and report on health indicators, ensuring adherence to safety and infection control standards.
  • Maintain an understanding of HR and financial policies related to nursing operations.
  • Foster a collaborative environment within a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient care.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in psychiatric nursing and healthcare legislation.

What You’ll Need

  • Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/degree in Nursing) with SANC registration as a Professional Nurse.
  • A post-basic qualification in Advanced Psychiatric Nursing Science, accredited by SANC.
  • Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience post-registration, with at least 6 years in psychiatric nursing.
  • At least 3 years of managerial experience in a nursing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legal frameworks, including PFMA and Batho Pele Principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with report writing capabilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and computer literacy are essential.
