What You’ll Do
- Coordinate and supervise comprehensive clinical medical physics services.
- Manage the commissioning of radiation-emitting machinery and devices within the hospital.
- Oversee the development and implementation of policies, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure compliance with equipment contracts, service level agreements, and relevant regulations.
- Participate in teaching, training, and research programs within the Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital.
- Manage staff performance and development, including budget controls and asset management.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and manage ionising and non-ionising radiation equipment.
- Collaborate with medical physicists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to support safe radiology and nuclear medicine procedures.
- Maintain continuing professional development and ensure compliance with professional standards.
What You’ll Need
- A relevant qualification (Diploma/Degree in Medical Physics) allowing for registration as a Medical Physicist with HPCSA.
- Registration with HPCSA as a Medical Physicist.
- A minimum of 3 years of appropriate supervisory experience post-registration.
- In-depth knowledge of radiographic techniques, radiation protection, and quality assurance processes.
- Strong administrative, supervisory, and management skills.
- Proficient in computer skills and knowledge of software used in radiology and radiotherapy.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
