What You’ll Do

  • Ensure the implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards within the department.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the security operations strategy to enhance overall safety.
  • Conduct information security audits and inspections, and promote awareness of information storage practices.
  • Coordinate the security directorate budget and manage procurement processes.
  • Develop and oversee operational procedures during departmental events to maintain security standards.
  • Conduct security threat and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Facilitate security awareness programs and manage departmental resources effectively.
  • Administer event management security plans according to SASREA guidelines.
  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies including SSA and SAPS for collaborative security efforts.
  • Conduct security investigations to address any incidents or breaches.

What You’ll Need

  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Security Management.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Senior Security Administration services environment.
  • Valid Grade B PSIRA Certificate and a valid driver’s license (minimum B Code).
  • Knowledge of access control procedures and prescribed security regulations, such as MPSS and MISS.
  • Understanding of the Protection of Information Act, PFMA, and SAREA.
  • Familiarity with emergency procedures, conflict management tools, and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong computer and report writing skills.
  • Knowledge of financial and people management principles, with an understanding of program and project management.

Requirements

A relevant NQF level 6 (National Diploma) in Security Management, Five (3) years’ experience as Senior Security Administration services environment.

Valid Grade B PSIRA Certificate, The disclosure of a valid unexpired driver’s licence a minimum of B Code, Knowledge of the access control procedures.

Knowledge of prescribed security procedures and relevant acts (e.

g.

Minimum Physical Security Standard (MPSS), Minimum Information Security Standard (MISS), Protection of Information Act, etc) and Private Security Industry Regulation Authority (PSIRA), Public Finance Management Act (PFMA Act), Safety at Sports and Recreation Event Act (SAREA).

Knowledge on the relevant emergency procedures.

Knowledge of conflict management tools and methodologies.

Understanding of programme and project management.

Knowledge of financial management.

People management and empowerment.

Knowledge of information Security and its prescripts, Excellent communication (both verbal and written), computer, presentations, report writing and networking skills.

Job Duties

Ensure the implementation of security policies, procedures and standards.

Facilitate the implementation of security operations strategy.

Conduct Information Security Audit, inspections, information storage and Awareness.
