About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for the role of Assistant Director: MEC Support (Licensing) based at the Head Office in Cape Town. What You’ll Do
- Implement health legislation and decision-making procedures related to licensing
- Participate in processes regarding legislative changes for the licensing function
- Represent the Ministry in legal consultative processes involving the MEC
- Provide administrative support to the MEC concerning licensing matters
- Monitor and manage document progress for licensing applications
- Collaborate with administrative staff for effective support services
- Study and formulate advice on licensing documentation for the MEC
- Liaise with applicants and advisors to gather necessary information
What You’ll Need
- A three-year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Administration, Finance, Business, Health, or Law
- Relevant experience in administrative, data management, or legal administration within a health service or business environment
- Supervisory experience at an appropriate salary level (7 or 8)
- Knowledge of health acts and regulations, particularly those related to licensing services
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email
- A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s license and a willingness to travel throughout the Western Cape
